Pre- Microneedling CARE GUIDE

Below is a guide that, when followed, will maximize the results of your treatment as well as ensure that you encounter as few service complications as possible.

Discontinue all use of retinoids and other chemical exfoliating agents for at least 72 hours including all topical prescription acne medication.

If you are a sunbather, or frequent the tanning salon, it is important to stay out of the sun (artificial or not) for a minimum of 72 hours prior to your service. Microneedling services will not be performed if any redness due to sun exposure is present on the skin. This measure is taken solely for our clients' safety and benefit.

Discontinue all use of antibiotics two weeks prior to your microneedling service.

Avoid mircodermabrasion, other chemical peeling services 2 weeks prior to your microneedling service.

Avoid waxing 72 hours prior to microneedling service.

Regarding the Herpes Simplex Virus I and II: it is possible for a herpes breakout to surface following more assertive treatments.  It is advised that anyone with a history of the herpes virus pre-treat 2 days before your microneedling service with your doctors recommended prescription.

POST- MICRONEEDLING CARE GUIDE

Below is a guide that, when followed, will maximize the results of your treatment as well as ensure that you encounter as few service complications as possible.

Avoid the following actives for up to 48 hours following a microneedling treatment:

  • Sun exposure

  • Intensive cardio

  • Excessively hot showers, bathing, spas or saunas

  • Further exfoliating treatments (including, but not limited to): Microdermabrasion, laser, IPL, chemical peels and injections

  • Spray or self tanning

  • Swimming in chlorinated pools or ocean

  • Tattooing

Limit sun exposure as much as possible for 2-4 weeks following your peeling service

Do not use tanning beds ever, but particularly in 4 weeks following a chemical peel.

Apply an SPF 50 sunscreen daily (reapplying as necessary during times of prolonged exposure) for 2 weeks before returning to standard SPF 30 for daily use.

Wash gently only with hands for 72 hours post peel.

Do not manually exfoliate the treated area for 3 weeks following peeling service.

Make sure to divulge any and all information to your skincare specialist regarding topicals for tailored instruction.

Do no pick at your skin as it begins to shed or encourage it desquamate (slough off) before it is ready as it can cause hyperpigmentation and scarring.

During the skin healing process, minor itching, hives, flaking or redness may appear. If symptoms persist, please call your microneedling practitioner.

Avoid the use of the skincare products congaing the following active resurfacing ingredients for up to 5 days following microneedling treatment:

  • Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs)

  • Beta hydroxy acid (BHAs)

  • Benzoyl peroxide

  • Retinoids

  • Hydroquinone

  • High levels of Kojic or Azeliaic acid

  • Alcohol
